Check out our current and growing partnerships to see how your group or organization could become a part of our participatory action toward social change.

IF you can't get actively involved, a direct donation to the Uganda Partnership will see 100% of your donation being spent in Uganda to support the work of the Uganda Partnership and the children directly. Donations can be made for specific projects, to specific children to support their basic needs and school fees, or can be donated to the Uganda Partnership generally and let the people working on the ground decide where the need is greatest.

INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED?

The NUA are a student association aimed at providing unity among all undergraduate students in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. The organization promotes interest and participation on campus, in the Faculty of Nursing, and in professional activities.

In 2016, the NUA announced our new role  with the Uganda Partnership as we work together to meet our fundraising goals in aiding with the creation of a clinic focusing on the health needs of the widows and community members.

Currently, the NUA is coordinating with students in Benyeshi Uganda who have received their Nursing Certificate by completing their studies to create a virtual clinic. In this clinic, Nursing students from the University of Alberta will be able to communicate via Smart Phones or Online Chats to share health related questions and experiences. This way students from Canada can learn about healthcare in Uganda and provide us with tips while we also can act as a health information resource.

The Legacy corporation is a student social justice and entrepreneurial group from Vincent Massey Junior High, in Calgary Alberta. Legacy students have been working and supporting the Uganda Partnership since 2010 and have been the primary funders for the majority of our initiatives since.

Each year Legacy students work hard fundraising by running school based businesses.  Since 2010 they have funded many initiatives including: group loans, a clean water and mosquito net campaign to reduce the impacts of Malaria, purchased land, constructed buildings, provided the funding for cooperative businesses and funding to provide women and children infected with HIV access to health care providers and medicine. As well Legacy students are fully supporting two young orphan girls to attend school.

In addition to Legacy's financial support they have also connected in a personal way with the women and children in Uganda. Legacy students and widows have exchanged, hand made (baskets and clothes), letters, songs, and wall hangings that hang in the main hall in Uganda Partnership's primary school, named after this amazing group of students.

All of us at Uganda Partnership truly appreciate the amazing work that is done by these 13-15 year olds who through their actions and generosity are making an enormous difference for the widowed women and children of Mitoma, Uganda.
