Webaze's Story"... When we arrived he met us and invited us in, we had brought some things for him, a blanket, sheets, and a mosquito net for his mother who was living with AIDS. Though he was glad to have received the new bedding he was very sad during our visit, when we asked him about school he looked up and told us that he had been sent away from school again, and that what he wanted more than anything was to go to school. This Christmas for the children in South-western Uganda Santa Clause came to them in the form of a 27 year old female volunteer from Canada. Lindsay arrived at the orphans houses not in a sled driven by reindeer but in a white pick up driven by me (I did however, have a red sunburned nose!). Lindsay checked her list (compiled by Webaze) sometimes twice, not to discover who was naughty or nice but who was in most need, and opened her giant Canadian hockey bag and found a Christmas gift that fit, all items not made in the north pole by elves, but donated from people as far away as Calgary, Victoria and Bangkok. ~Read More
