Legacy Community Development Project

We are constructing a plan for a community education centre, a place for our widows groups, grandmothers and children to meet as well as work on collaborative income generating projects. The centre will also be a place for adult education where we will conduct seminars on topics relevant to the community. The surrounding land would be used for groups to plant and grow food to help the community in times of shortage. Eventually we would like the centre to accommodate widows and children who need a place to stay in times of difficulty and visitors who come to assist our project. We are aiming to begin this project with the purchase of land and the building of a hall.

The Legacy Corporation, a student run business at Vincent Massey Junior High School is currently fundraising for the purchase of the land for this project. If you would like to help with this project please contact hdahn@cbe.ab.ca
